Xbihat Tal – Antenati / Ancestral Visions
Fil-poeżiji tagħha bil-Malti u bl-Ingliż, Marlene Saliba tiddeskrivi b’mod tassew kommoventi n-nies ammirevoli li bnew l-imqades Neolitiċi ta’ art twelidna u tirrifletti dwar ir-relevanza tal-kultura tagħhom għalina. Ir-ritratti mill-isbaħ u x-xbihat ta’ xogħolijiet evokattivi ta’ diversi artisti mis-seklu tmintax sal-lum iżidu d-dimensjoni viżiva tal-ħajja ta’ dawn l-antenati tal-Gżejjer Maltin – ħajja li b’għadd ta’ modi tista’ titqabbel ma’ tagħna, ngħixu f’liema rokna tad-dinja ngħixu. Il-fotografija prinċipali tal-fdalijiet Neolitiċi hi ta’ Daniel Cilia.
In her poems in Maltese and english, Marlene Salina movingly portrays the Neolithic temple people of her native Maltese Islands and reflects on their admirable culture and its relevance today. The beautiful photographs and the images of fascinating works of art by past and contemporary artists add an evocative visual dimension to the life of these Maltese ancestors – a life which in so many ways can be compared to ours, no matter what part of the world we inhabit. The main photography of the Neolithic remains is by Daniel Cilia.
