Some Points of Criminology
Joseph Semini was bom in Valletta in 1884. He joined the Malta Police Force, becoming an inspector and distinguishing himself in the Criminal Investigation Division. He was appointed superintendent in 1929, about three years after he published “Some Points on Criminology”.
The book discusses crime issues in Malta during the 1920s-30s of concern to Semini and examine the way in which he sought to address them with reference to criminological ideas in Italy and the United Kingdom. Semini’s work, in light of criminological developments in Malta.
