Gentle Child – fables of hope
“… The icy cold within his spirit made him shiver. Except that, the cold did not go on to grow as it always would do. From the surrounding darkness he felt a warmth reach towards him and, without knowing how it could be, he felt the cold within him easing and his old turmoil begin to grow still. While above it, there rose a questioning, a feeling of awe as the strange growing warmth wrapped him within it.
– Did I not tell you, said the voice with such gentleness that the man bathed in it wanted to weep, that I shall be carrying the sins of the world? No matter how great your sins, they can only be a very, very minute fraction of that entire total. My family business can surely handle that, my friend, if you can handle yourself.”
