Ganutell
When the book on the fascinating Maltese art of making artistic flowers was published, it was the first book to provide documentation in English on the various techniques used in making artistic flowers using wire and thread. The scope was to introduce this craft in all those countries beyond our shores where English is understood. This has succeeded well beyond the expectations of Maria Kerr and copies of the book can now be found in Europe, America, Russia, Japan and Australia.
The style and layout of the book makes it pleasant to read and the explanations are simple and easy to follow, this is even made easier by the large amount of coloured photographs. The book lists tools and materials which a hobbyist will need as he or she embarks on making his first basic petals the various leaves and stamens which when mounted will ultimately produce the first flower. The novice is slowly introduced to various methods and techniques and by the time he or she has gone through the book, a number of projects would have been completed.
