The book is being published in honour of Joseph Muscat on the occasion of his seventieth birthday.Over the past decades, Joseph Muscat has worked incessantly towards the study and research of various aspects of Malta’s maritime heritage. He has published books and articles, both locally and abroad, on ship graffiti, Maltese traditional boats and the navy of the Order of St John.The large number of contributions contained in this book bear witness to amiability of Joseph Muscat’s character.He has always been selfless in helping and supporting fellow scholars and researches.The majority of the contributors are Maltese including well-known historians, philosphers and archaeologist.Other contributions are written by top scholars elsewhere in the Mediterranean and beyond.
