Founded in September 2001, Malta Online Bookshop is Malta’s largest online bookshop specialising in Melitensia and rare books, alongside a continually updated range of current Maltese publications.
Established at a time when online book retailing in Malta was still largely unexplored, the bookshop was created to address a clear gap: the absence of a dedicated online platform offering constant availability of Melitensia and rare titles. What began as a focused initiative has since grown into a trusted reference point for collectors, researchers, and readers both locally and abroad.

Patrick Anastasi founded Malta Online Bookshop with the aim of creating a dedicated online platform for Melitensia and rare books at a time when no such resource existed in Malta. Actively involved in the business today, he oversees the development of the catalogue and the continued growth of the bookshop as a trusted specialist destination.

Dr Robert Thake is a recognised authority in the field of rare and antiquarian books.
