Sirius – The Star Of The Maltese Temples
The discovery of the orientation of Malta’s Stone Age temples to Sirius solves many questions surrounding this underestimated and outside Malta practically unknown megalithic civilisation. In this book the author shows that all the temples were orientated at some point in time to rising or setting points of this brightest star in the night sky. It also presents a compelling explanation for the great number of megalithic sites (66 have been recorded) in the Maltese islands, as well as for the variations in the orientations of the temples. The resulting ancient dates deviate from conventional wisdom, but are closely in line with the findings of the recently re-discovered, brilliant Italian archaeologist Luigi Maria Ugolini.
In the closing chapter Malta’s megalithic legacy is accorded its deserved place in human cultural history.
