A beautiful sixteenth century book published by the first major historian of the Order of St John, Giacomo Bosio.
The title page of this 425 year old book boasts a beautiful depiction of the coat of arms of the then Grand Master Verdalle.
The book is bound in sturdy contemporary vellum on card and can be opened with confidence. Bosio’s translation of the Order’s ‘privileges’ is separate to, but compliments, Bosio’s translation of the Order’s statutes.
A very rare book in exceptional condition.
